pyramids of teotihuacán, mexico
We visited the ancient city of Teotihuacán—“the place where the gods were created”—in the dreamiest of ways: sunrise sky sailing. Surrendering to the laws of thermodynamics, we lifted up in our hot air balloon, peering over the edges of our basket as the earth below grew farther and farther away. Amidst a throng of other colorfully patterned balloons, we floated over the the Temple of Quetzalcoatl and the Pyramids of the Sun and the Moon. The sun began to rush across the sky and envelop the world in golden morning light—the perfect sky for soaring above ancient wonders.
